The Vacancy
Severn Hospice, one of the region’s leading and much-loved charities, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced health and safety professional to join our team.
Caring is what we do best, and this includes creating a safe, supportive and sustainable environment for everyone across our hospice sites and retail shops.
We’re looking for a knowledgeable and approachable individual to lead on the development, delivery and promotion of an effective health, safety, welfare and environmental culture.
With your strong interpersonal skills and collaborative and pragmatic approach, you’ll work closely with colleagues across the organisation to provide expert guidance, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation while supporting teams to manage risk in a practical and proportionate way. You’ll play a key role in developing and maintaining policies, overseeing risk assessments, managing incident reporting and investigations and ensuring robust systems are in place to protect our patients, staff, volunteers and visitors.
We’re looking for someone with a NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent), alongside experience within the field. You’ll lead on statutory compliance across areas including fire safety, health and safety, and environmental standards. From arranging training and chairing the Health and Safety Committee to monitoring performance and driving best practice, you’ll ensure safety remains at the heart of everything we do.
